SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Richard A. "Dick" Anderson of Kewanee,
4who passed away on August 4, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dick Anderson, the son of Arlo Glen and Jeannie
6Elizabeth (Donaldson) Anderson, was born in Kewanee on August
716, 1938; he graduated from Kewanee High School in 1956; he
8married Carolyn Jean Edwards in Kewanee on September 5, 1959;
9he served in the United States Army Reserve from 1961 to 1967;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Dick Anderson worked at Illinois Power for 40
12years, and he was a business manager of International
13Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1306; he also
14served as president of the board of directors of Utility
15Employees Credit Union for many years; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Dick Anderson was an avid trap shooter, winning
17numerous competitions over the years; he loved hunting, and
18his hunting expeditions took him to a number of international
19locales, including Greenland, Africa, Argentina, and Canada;
20in the United States, he pursued hunting in Utah, Colorado,
21and Wyoming; he enjoyed connecting with nature and held a deep
22respect for wildlife; and

1    WHEREAS, Dick Anderson was preceded in death by his
2parents; his brother, Ronald Anderson; and his sister, Sharon
3Guthrie; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Dick Anderson is survived by his wife of 65
5years, Carolyn; his children, Mark (Cynthia) Anderson and
6James (Bonnie) Anderson; four grandchildren; six
7great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; therefore,
8be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Richard A. "Dick" Anderson and extend our sincere condolences
12to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
13it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Dick Anderson as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
