SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Larry R. Willis of Havana, who passed
4away at on October 9, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Larry Willis was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri
6to Wayne and Pauline (Jones) Willis on June 15, 1949; he served
7in the U.S. Air Force from 1967 to 1971; he married Phyllis
8Silberberg in Belleville on January 19, 1973; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Larry Willis was one of the first employees at
10the Jake Wolf Memorial Fish Hatchery, where he worked until
11retiring in 2010; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Larry Willis enjoyed spending time outdoors,
13whether he was fishing, gardening, or watching the wildlife
14around him; he was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed doing the
15monthly bird count at the Emiquon Nature Preserve; he also
16enjoyed watching his granddaughters participate in their
17sporting events, musical performances, and theater
18productions; he was a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, Larry Willis was preceded in death by his parents
21and sister, Roberta; and

1    WHEREAS, Larry Willis is survived by his wife, Phyllis;
2his children, Noah (Ashley) Willis and Rachel (Ryan) Bieneman;
3and his grandchildren, Ava, Maya, and Eliza Bieneman and Norah
4and Naomi Willis; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Larry R. Willis and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Larry Willis as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
