SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Michael James "Rocky" Krause of
4Blandinsville, who passed away on October 7, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Michael Krause was born in Chicago to Frank and
6Florence (Riley) Krause on December 31, 1944; he attended
7Southern Illinois University before entering the U.S. Army,
8where he served in Vietnam; he received his teaching degree
9from Western Illinois University, where he later returned to
10earn a master's degree; he and Laura Curtis were married in
11Macomb on August 19, 2006; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Michael Krause held numerous jobs over the years;
13he worked for the Chicago Transit Authority for a time; he
14worked as a ladies shoe salesman, brick layer, roofer, and
15construction worker, and had a lawn care business; he was a
16teacher and behavior specialist with the West Central Illinois
17Special Education Cooperative for many years, and he taught
18adult education at the Western Illinois Correctional Center in
19Mount Sterling for three years; he also drove a taxi for S&G
20taxi in Macomb; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Michael Krause was a member of the American
22Legion and the Ramblers Motorcycle Club; he served on the

1board of the Blandinsville-Hire District Library from 2007
2until 2011; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Michael Krause was preceded in death by his
4parents and his brother, Frank William "Bill" Krause III; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Michael Krause is survived by his wife, Laura,
6and her children; his sister, Jeanne (John) Nunez; and a
7niece, nephew, and several great-nieces and nephews;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Michael James "Rocky" Krause and extend our sincere
12condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
13him; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Michael Krause as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
