SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of John D. Burgard of Canton, who passed
4away on September 13, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Burgard was born to Kenneth and Clara
6(Cannon) Burgard in Canton on October 20, 1939; he married
7Connie Arnold in Prairie City on May 13, 1962; he served in the
8United States Army Reserve for six years; and
 
9    WHEREAS, John Burgard retired from International Harvester
10in Canton after 30 years of service in 1983; and
 
11    WHEREAS, John Burgard enjoyed fishing, quail hunting, and
12working on his flower garden in his yard; he was also an avid
13Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan; and
 
14    WHEREAS, John Burgard was preceded in death by his
15daughter, Rebecca Sigler, and his brother, Mike Burgard; and
 
16    WHEREAS, John Burgard is survived by his wife of 63 years,
17Connie; his daughters, Renee (Ron) Tompkins and Rhonda (Craig
18Rios) Myers; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren;
19one great-great-granddaughter; his son-in-law, John Sigler;
20and his sister-in-law, Sandy Burgard; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3John D. Burgard and extend our sincere condolences to his
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
5further
