SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Mario A. Pasin, who passed away on
4August 18, 2025 at the age of 95; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mario Pasin was born in Oak Park on February 6,
61930 to Antonio and Anna Pasin, Italian immigrants who
7instilled the values of hard work and integrity in their
8family; he attended St. Giles School and Fenwick High School
9before enrolling at the University of Notre Dame, where he
10received both his undergraduate and law degrees; he married
11Mary Kay in 1959; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Mario Pasin's father, Antonio, was a skilled wood
13craftsman who founded the family business, Radio Flyer, makers
14of the iconic little red wagon of the same name, which was
15inspired by two great inventions of the early 20th century,
16the radio and the airplane; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Mario Pasin dedicated himself to leading Radio
18Flyer from the 1960s through the 1990s, carrying forward the
19company's mission of creativity, quality, and care; under his
20leadership, the company thrived, and in turn, he earned deep
21respect for treating all employees with fairness, dignity, and
22equality in the workplace; and

1    WHEREAS, Mario Pasin, in addition to his professional
2life, restored and preserved his family's dairy farm in
3Wisconsin, planting thousands of trees, rehabilitating the
4lake, and creating a lasting natural sanctuary that reflected
5his love of the outdoors; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Mario Pasin was known as a man of integrity,
7humility, compassion, and generosity, qualities that inspired
8his family and community alike to continue his legacy of
9kindness and stewardship; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Mario Pasin was preceded in death by his parents
11and his sister; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Mario Pasin is survived by his wife of 66 years,
13Mary Kay; his children, Mark (Mary Margaret), Therese (David)
14Brandenstein, Antonio, Paul (Jane), and Robert (Muriel Quinn);
15his grandchildren, Paul (Jenny), Mary (Kassi), and Miles
16Brandenstein, Helen, Henry, Oscar, and Linus Quinn Pasin, and
17Augustine (Moe) and Joy Pasin; and his great-grandchild, June;
18therefore, be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
20ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
21Mario A. Pasin and extend our sincere condolences to his

3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4presented to the family of Mario Pasin as an expression of our
5deepest sympathy.
