| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Mary Carol Vanecko, who passed away on | ||||||
| 4 | February 28, 2025 at the age of 86; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Mary Vanecko grew up in Chicago, and she | ||||||
| 6 | graduated from Nativity of Our Lord Grammar School, St. Xavier | ||||||
| 7 | High School, and St. Mary's College; and | ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Mary Vanecko was dedicated to teaching, and she | ||||||
| 9 | taught kindergarten at Wilmette Public Schools; and | ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Mary Vanecko was a lifelong parishioner at Queen | ||||||
| 11 | of All Saints and the longest standing member of the | ||||||
| 12 | Misericordia Women's Board; and | ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Mary Vanecko was a loving mother and grandmother | ||||||
| 14 | who enjoyed playing tennis, golfing, visiting Grand Beach, | ||||||
| 15 | shopping, attending parties, eating Sunday dinner, and | ||||||
| 16 | traveling; she was known for cooking her signature pancakes, | ||||||
| 17 | sending her funny emojis, and making her rapid-fire telephone | ||||||
| 18 | calls; and | ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Mary Vanecko was preceded in death by her husband | ||||||
| 20 | of 59 years, Robert M. Vanecko, M.D.; her parents, Richard J. | ||||||

| 2 | Daley Martino and Eleanor Daley; and her in-laws, Peter | ||||||

| 10 | Hickman; her siblings, Richard M. Daley, Michael (Nancy) | ||||||

| 12 | Daley; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 14 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 15 | Mary Carol Vanecko and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
| 16 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
