SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Anna Hamm Sadowski, who passed away on
4May 27, 2025 at the age of 96; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Anna Sadowski was born to Henry S. Hamm and Nina
6Valliant Hamm in Dover, Delaware in 1928; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Anna Sadowski married Raymond Sadowski in 1949,
8and they moved to Oak Park in 1956, where they decided to raise
9their family of four children; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Anna Sadowski earned a degree in early childhood
11education in 1977; she then taught at the Pilgrim Community
12Preschool for 33 years, where she educated five of her
13grandchildren and numerous other children from many
14generations of Oak Park residents; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Anna Sadowski spent her life infatuated with
16nature and learning, using the internet to research nature
17facts and to watch bird cams; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Anna Sadowski took several nature trips, most
19prominently to Chautauqua, New York and to explore Lewis and
20Clark's route from Missouri to Oregon; and

1    WHEREAS, Anna Sadowski passed her love of nature and
2learning to her family through camping trips and Road Scholar
3programs while staying active well into her 90s by visiting
4parks and gardens in the community; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Anna Sadowski is survived by her children,
6Daniel, Patty, Lisa, and Jim Sadowski; five grandchildren,
7Caitlin Sadowski, Kevin Sadowski, Jien Ra, Peter Sadowski, and
8Sarah Sadowski; and two great-grandchildren, Naru and Nuri Yi;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Anna Sadowski and extend our sincere condolences to her
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Anna Sadowski as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
