SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Anna Hamm Sadowski, who passed away on May 27, 2025 at the age of 96; and

WHEREAS, Anna Sadowski was born to Henry S. Hamm and Nina Valliant Hamm in Dover, Delaware in 1928; and

WHEREAS, Anna Sadowski married Raymond Sadowski in 1949, and they moved to Oak Park in 1956, where they decided to raise their family of four children; and

WHEREAS, Anna Sadowski earned a degree in early childhood education in 1977; she then taught at the Pilgrim Community Preschool for 33 years, where she educated five of her grandchildren and numerous other children from many generations of Oak Park residents; and

WHEREAS, Anna Sadowski spent her life infatuated with nature and learning, using the internet to research nature facts and to watch bird cams; and

WHEREAS, Anna Sadowski took several nature trips, most prominently to Chautauqua, New York and to explore Lewis and Clark's route from Missouri to Oregon; and

WHEREAS, Anna Sadowski passed her love of nature and learning to her family through camping trips and Road Scholar programs while staying active well into her 90s by visiting parks and gardens in the community; and

WHEREAS, Anna Sadowski is survived by her children, Daniel, Patty, Lisa, and Jim Sadowski; five grandchildren, Caitlin Sadowski, Kevin Sadowski, Jien Ra, Peter Sadowski, and Sarah Sadowski; and two great-grandchildren, Naru and Nuri Yi; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Anna Sadowski and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Anna Sadowski as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
