| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Assunta L. (Tirelli) Caparelli, who |
| 4 | | passed away on August 29, 2025; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Assunta Caparelli was born to Carmella and |
| 6 | | Salvatore Tirelli in Naples, Italy on August 31, 1947; and |
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Assunta Caparelli worked in the restaurant |
| 8 | | industry for 30 years, initially dedicating herself as a |
| 9 | | server for two decades before becoming a chef, through which |
| 10 | | she infused her Italian heritage with her love of food; during |
| 11 | | her career, she was noted for her impeccable work ethic and |
| 12 | | culinary passion; and |
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Assunta Caparelli enjoyed tending to her flower |
| 14 | | gardens and supporting the San Francisco 49ers, especially |
| 15 | | quarterback Joe Montana; and |
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Assunta Caparelli was a woman of strong faith, |
| 17 | | finding joy and solace in the traditions and community of the |
| 18 | | Catholic church; she was known for speaking her mind, and she |
| 19 | | infused the warmth and liveliness of her Italian heritage in |
| 20 | | everything she did; she will be remembered for her authentic |
| 21 | | spirit and her passion for life; and |
