SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Assunta L. (Tirelli) Caparelli, who
4passed away on August 29, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Assunta Caparelli was born to Carmella and
6Salvatore Tirelli in Naples, Italy on August 31, 1947; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Assunta Caparelli worked in the restaurant
8industry for 30 years, initially dedicating herself as a
9server for two decades before becoming a chef, through which
10she infused her Italian heritage with her love of food; during
11her career, she was noted for her impeccable work ethic and
12culinary passion; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Assunta Caparelli enjoyed tending to her flower
14gardens and supporting the San Francisco 49ers, especially
15quarterback Joe Montana; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Assunta Caparelli was a woman of strong faith,
17finding joy and solace in the traditions and community of the
18Catholic church; she was known for speaking her mind, and she
19infused the warmth and liveliness of her Italian heritage in
20everything she did; she will be remembered for her authentic
21spirit and her passion for life; and

1    WHEREAS, Assunta Caparelli was the mother of Lisa (Tom)
2Caparelli-Ruff; the grandmother of Nicolas (Julianna) Ruff and
3Luke Ruff; the sister of Pasquale, Consglia (Bob), Anna Maria,
4Rita, Pasqualina, Patrizia, Rosaria, and the late Maria; and
5the aunt of many; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Assunta L. (Tirelli) Caparelli and extend our sincere
9condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
10her; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Assunta Caparelli as an expression
13of our deepest sympathy.
