| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Judith Darlene "Judi" Kingery Dodson |
| 4 | | of Springfield, who passed away on August 21, 2025; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Judi Dodson, the daughter of James J.V. "Jude" |
| 6 | | and OlaBelle Waneta Yaw Kingery, was born in Jewett on |
| 7 | | December 3, 1941; she was a lifelong learner, attending |
| 8 | | several schools and universities; and |
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Judi Dodson owned her own accounting and tax |
| 10 | | business before changing professions to drive a semi-truck at |
| 11 | | age 60; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Judi Dodson was involved in the community in a |
| 13 | | number of ways, including volunteering and working for park |
| 14 | | districts, working for youth organizations, being a juvenile |
| 15 | | probation officer, and serving as a foster parent; and |
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Judi Dodson was a member and officer of the |
| 17 | | Springfield Luncheon Optimist Club for many years and a member |
| 18 | | of the Order of the Eastern Star, Flower City Chapter for more |
| 19 | | than 50 years; she also served as the first female president of |
| 20 | | the Effingham Park District; and |
