SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Kenneth Max Olson of Monticello, who
4passed away on August 19, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Max Olson, the son of Charles and Grace (Blank)
6Olson, was born in White Heath on May 16, 1927; he served in
7the United States Navy and Navy Reserve; he married Marilyn
8Charlene Furry in Monticello on May 30, 1952; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Max Olson was a farmer, and he served as a member
10of the Piatt County Farm Bureau and the Piatt County Service
11Company; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Max Olson was committed to his community, serving
13as supervisor of Sangamon Township, chairman of the Piatt
14County Board, president of Habitat for Humanity, and as a
15member of the Monticello United Methodist Church, the
16Monticello Community Unified School District 25 Board of
17Education, the Tatman Village Board, and the Growmark Board;
18and
 
19    WHEREAS, Max Olson was inducted into the Monticello High
20School Hall of Fame, and he enjoyed woodworking in his spare
21time; and

1    WHEREAS, Max Olson was preceded in death by his parents;
2his son, Eric Olson; two brothers; and four sisters; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Max Olson is survived by his wife of 73 years,
4Marilyn Olson; his son, Bill (Sally) Olson; his daughters,
5Debbie Olson, Julia (Joe) Torres, and Rebecca (Dan) Olson; 12
6grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Kenneth Max Olson and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Max Olson as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
