SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn about the death of Arthur Eugene Wilson of
4Springfield, who passed away on July 1, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Arthur Wilson, the son of Leland Eugene Wilson
6and Alice Mildred Warner, was born in Jacksonville on January
726, 1957; he served in the U.S. Marine Corps; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Arthur Wilson had previously retired from the
9Department of Corrections, and he was currently working as a
10security guard for the State of Illinois at the State Capitol;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Arthur Wilson was a member of the NAACP in
13Jacksonville, and he was very involved with founding museums
14in the Jacksonville area; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Arthur Wilson was preceded in death by his
16parents and two brothers; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Arthur Wilson is survived by his children, Amber
18Wilson, Adair Wilson, Joshua Wilson, and Arzellus Wilson;
19eight grandchildren; his siblings, Shirley Wilson, Glenna
20Sheppard, Vivian Killion, Bruce Wilson, and Barry Wilson; and

1several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Arthur Eugene Wilson and extend our sincere condolences to his
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Arthur Wilson as an expression of
9our deepest sympathy.
