SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Joyce Irene Williams of Springfield,
4formerly of Kilbourne, who passed away on June 20, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joyce Williams was born in Springfield to
6Marshall and Lola Clark on March 5, 1943; she married Dean
7Williams on March 1, 1997; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Joyce Williams' children and grandchildren were
9her pride and joy, and nothing meant more to her; she loved
10keeping family traditions and was proud of the family she
11built; she also loved to travel and make memories together,
12and one of her favorite trips was in 2004 when she took the
13whole family on a Disney cruise for Christmas; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Joyce Williams was a member of Kilbourne Baptist
15Church; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Joyce Williams was preceded in death by her
17parents; her sisters, Eleanor (Bud) Mead and Marilyn (Bill)
18McCracken; and her stepson, Rick Williams; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Joyce Williams is survived by her husband, Dean;
20her children, Craig (Cindy) Schaeffer, Suzanne (Kevin) King,

1and LeaAnn (Rod) Johnson; her stepsons, Duane and Dana
2Williams; her grandchildren, Kelsea Schaeffer, Brandy (Keith)
3Lane, Abbey (Brent) Thorman, Courtney King, Jacob King, Alex
4Johnson, and Ben Johnson; her step-grandchildren, Ricky, Dana,
5Presley, and Luke Williams; her great-grandchildren, Peter
6Lane and Dakota, Reagan, Cameron, and Andersen Thorman; and
7two step-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Joyce Irene Williams and extend our sincere condolences to her
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Joyce Williams as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
