SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Thomas Michael "Tom" Sullivan, who 
4passed away on June 13, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Tom Sullivan was born in Chicago to Thomas and 
6Marion Sullivan on September 29, 1949; he served in the United 
7States Army during the Vietnam War and remained deeply 
8patriotic throughout his life; he married Kathleen "Kathy" 
9Greene, and they settled in Des Plaines; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Tom Sullivan was affectionately know as "Tommy", 
11"Tom", and "Sully" and was a devoted husband and father; he 
12cherished his role as grandpa and found great joy in spending 
13time with his family; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Tom Sullivan had a great sense of humor, a big 
15heart, and an unwavering devotion to those he loved; he had a 
16gift for making people feel welcome, a talent for telling 
17stories, and a smile that made any room warmer; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Tom Sullivan was preceded in death by his parents 
19and his siblings, Patrick "Pat" and Margaret "Peggy" Sullivan; 
20and

1    WHEREAS, Tom Sullivan is survived by his wife, Kathy; his 
2children, Sean (Krystal), Shannon, and Steven; his 
3grandchildren, Lucas and Eli; his sisters, Maureen (Charles 
4Boland) and Kathy (Rick Glenn); and numerous cousins, nieces, 
5and nephews; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
8Thomas Michael "Tom" Sullivan and extend our sincere 
9condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
10him; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to the family of Tom Sullivan as an expression of our 
13deepest sympathy.
