SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Stephen "Steve" Kennedy of Quincy, who
4passed away on June 12, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Steve Kennedy, the son of Dorothy Cusick, was
6born in Paris on July 29, 1960; he was raised by his parents,
7Frank and Dorothy Cusick Felgenhauer; he graduated from Paris
8High School in 1978; he received his bachelor's degree in
9psychology from Quincy College; he married Deborah Catlett in
10Las Vegas, Nevada on November 16, 1999; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Steve Kennedy was a member and past president of
12the Quincy Tea Party, and he was an integral part of the Adams
13County Republicans, where he presided over the Monday morning
14breakfast meetings; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Steve Kennedy enjoyed spending time outdoors,
16including casting a line by the water, setting up camp under
17the stars, boating on the river, and riding his motorcycle out
18on the open road; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Steve Kennedy greatly cherished spending time
20with his family; and

1    WHEREAS, Steve Kennedy was preceded in death by his
2parents; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Steve Kennedy is survived by his wife of 25
4years, Deborah; his children, Justin Kennedy and Jessica
5Kennedy; two granddaughters; and his siblings, Ted
6Felgenhauer, Carla Wells, Pam Felgenhauer, and Clint
7Felgenhauer; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Stephen "Steve" Kennedy and extend our sincere condolences to
11his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Steve Kennedy as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
