SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Roy C. Easton Jr. of Pana, who passed
4away on June 2, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Roy Easton was born to Roy C. and Margaret O.
6(Elder) Easton in Toledo on November 11, 1945; he received a
7bachelor's degree from Eastern Illinois University in 1968; he
8married Janet Herbord, and she preceded him in death; he then
9married Lagenia King, and they later divorced; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Roy Easton taught English and driver's education
11at the Pana School District, where he also coached football
12and golf; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Roy Easton loved golfing and was a member of the
14Pana Country Club; he was also a member of the Pana Moose
15Lodge, the Pana Elks, and the Pana Eagles; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Roy Easton was passionate about the St. Louis
17Cardinals, and he enjoyed taking trips with friends to Las
18Vegas, hanging out, and having a cold beer; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Roy Easton was preceded in death by his parents
20and his brothers, Bill Easton and Robert Easton; and

1    WHEREAS, Roy Easton is survived by his sons, Jeremy
2(Robyn) Easton and Jason (Becky) Easton; four grandchildren;
3and his sister-in-law, Betty Easton; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Roy C. Easton Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Roy Easton as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
