SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Joseph Charles "Joe" Bierman, who
4passed away on May 28, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joe Bierman, the son of Clem and Agnes (Cohorst)
6Bierman, was born in Effingham on March 2, 1940; he attended
7Jasper County schools; he served in the U.S. Army Reserves; he
8married Mary Jane Repking on April 24, 1965; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Joe Bierman dedicated his life to dairy farming,
10a profession he carried with pride and love; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Joe Bierman was a devoted member of St. Thomas
12Catholic Church, and his faith was central to his life; as a
13committed community member, he was actively involved in
14various organizations and served on numerous boards; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Joe Bierman was an avid fast-pitch softball
16player, who stood on the mound for over 40 years; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Joe Bierman was known for his humility and
18generosity, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Joe Bierman was preceded in death by his son,

1Doug, and his parents; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Joe Bierman is survived by his wife of 60 years,
3Mary Jane; his children, Cheryl Mitchell, Ken (Vickie)
4Bierman, Matt (Stacy) Bierman, and Diana Van Osdell (Matt); 10
5grandchildren; and his siblings, Dave (Cris) Bierman, Patti
6(Mike) Wente, Nick (Jody) Bierman, Ellen (Jim) Roller, Marge
7(Jerry) Kessler, and Phyllis (Pete) Hyland; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Joseph Charles "Joe" Bierman and extend our sincere
11condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
12him; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Joe Bierman as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
