| 2 |  |     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened  | 
| 3 |  | to learn of the death of Glennon H. Paul, M.D., who passed away  | 
| 4 |  | on May 12, 2025; and   | 
| 5 |  |     WHEREAS, Dr. Paul was born to Charles and Cora (Strebler)  | 
| 6 |  | Paul in St. Louis, Missouri on July 14, 1941; he graduated from  | 
| 7 |  | the St. Louis College of Pharmacy and then attended medical  | 
| 8 |  | school at the University of Missouri; he undertook his medical  | 
| 9 |  | internship at the U.S. Public Health Service Hospital in  | 
| 10 |  | Seattle, Washington before completing his residency in  | 
| 11 |  | Internal Medicine at the University of Washington; he then  | 
| 12 |  | completed a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the  | 
| 13 |  | University of Washington; he was board certified in both  | 
| 14 |  | Internal Medicine and in Allergy and Immunology; he married  | 
| 15 |  | Jeanette Schroeder on April 24, 1965; and   | 
| 16 |  |     WHEREAS, Dr. Paul served as a medical officer in the U.S.  | 
| 17 |  | Coast Guard for the U.S. Public Health Service from 1967 to  | 
| 18 |  | 1973, where he also worked as director of Ambulatory Medicine  | 
| 19 |  | and director of Dermatology and Allergy; he served as medical  | 
| 20 |  | director of Ventilator Management and medical director of  | 
| 21 |  | Respiratory Therapy at St. John's Hospital in Springfield; he  | 
| 22 |  | was also a teacher and clinical assistant professor at the  | 
| 23 |  | Southern Illinois University School of Medicine; and   |

| 1 |  |     WHEREAS, Dr. Paul founded the Central Illinois Allergy and  | 
| 2 |  | Respiratory Center in 1974; his highly specialized clinic was  | 
| 3 |  | dedicated to helping people feel better, serving the people of  | 
| 4 |  | Springfield and the surrounding area for over 50 years; he  | 
| 5 |  | retired in May 2016, having served as a dedicated physician  | 
| 6 |  | for over five decades; during his career, he also authored  | 
| 7 |  | several books and patented a sinus screener device; and   | 
| 8 |  |     WHEREAS, Dr. Paul enjoyed learning, reading, laughing, and  | 
| 9 |  | joking around; and   | 
| 10 |  |     WHEREAS, Dr. Paul was a born leader who always lived his  | 
| 11 |  | life to the fullest; he was known for being humble,  | 
| 12 |  | quick-witted, full of wisdom, and generous; he loved his  | 
| 13 |  | family, science, knowledge, and medicine, and he will be  | 
| 14 |  | remembered for his unwavering commitment to his patients; and   | 
| 15 |  |     WHEREAS, Dr. Paul was preceded in death by his parents;  | 
| 16 |  | his siblings, David Paul, Danny Paul, and Sharon Paul; and his  | 
| 17 |  | daughter, Ginger Paul; and   | 
| 18 |  |     WHEREAS, Dr. Paul is survived by his wife of 60 years,  | 
| 19 |  | Jeanette Paul; his children, Charlie (Mia) Paul, Shelly (Dave)  | 
| 20 |  | Graupner, Marty (Jennifer) Paul, Al (Amanda) Paul, Sherry  | 
| 21 |  | (Tim) Ungashick, Barbie (Jeff) Sauer, Andrew Paul, Sally  | 
     |

| 5 |  |     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL  | 
| 6 |  | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of  | 
| 7 |  | Glennon H. Paul, M.D. and extend our sincere condolences to  | 
| 8 |  | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it  | 
| 9 |  | further   | 
| 10 |  |     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be  | 
| 11 |  | presented to the family of Dr. Paul as an expression of our  | 
| 12 |  | deepest sympathy. |
