SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Glennon H. Paul, M.D., who passed away
4on May 12, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dr. Paul was born to Charles and Cora (Strebler)
6Paul in St. Louis, Missouri on July 14, 1941; he graduated from
7the St. Louis College of Pharmacy and then attended medical
8school at the University of Missouri; he undertook his medical
9internship at the U.S. Public Health Service Hospital in
10Seattle, Washington before completing his residency in
11Internal Medicine at the University of Washington; he then
12completed a fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the
13University of Washington; he was board certified in both
14Internal Medicine and in Allergy and Immunology; he married
15Jeanette Schroeder on April 24, 1965; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Dr. Paul served as a medical officer in the U.S.
17Coast Guard for the U.S. Public Health Service from 1967 to
181973, where he also worked as director of Ambulatory Medicine
19and director of Dermatology and Allergy; he served as medical
20director of Ventilator Management and medical director of
21Respiratory Therapy at St. John's Hospital in Springfield; he
22was also a teacher and clinical assistant professor at the
23Southern Illinois University School of Medicine; and

1    WHEREAS, Dr. Paul founded the Central Illinois Allergy and
2Respiratory Center in 1974; his highly specialized clinic was
3dedicated to helping people feel better, serving the people of
4Springfield and the surrounding area for over 50 years; he
5retired in May 2016, having served as a dedicated physician
6for over five decades; during his career, he also authored
7several books and patented a sinus screener device; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Dr. Paul enjoyed learning, reading, laughing, and
9joking around; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Dr. Paul was a born leader who always lived his
11life to the fullest; he was known for being humble,
12quick-witted, full of wisdom, and generous; he loved his
13family, science, knowledge, and medicine, and he will be
14remembered for his unwavering commitment to his patients; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Dr. Paul was preceded in death by his parents;
16his siblings, David Paul, Danny Paul, and Sharon Paul; and his
17daughter, Ginger Paul; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Dr. Paul is survived by his wife of 60 years,
19Jeanette Paul; his children, Charlie (Mia) Paul, Shelly (Dave)
20Graupner, Marty (Jennifer) Paul, Al (Amanda) Paul, Sherry
21(Tim) Ungashick, Barbie (Jeff) Sauer, Andrew Paul, Sally

2Paul; 27 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his sister,

5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Glennon H. Paul, M.D. and extend our sincere condolences to
8his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Dr. Paul as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
