SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Thomas Michael "Tom" Carraher of Oak
4Park, who passed away on April 10, 2025 at the age of 61; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Tom Carraher was born to William and Mary
6Carraher in Oak Park on August 26, 1963; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Tom Carraher attended St. Edmunds Catholic
8School, Oak Park and River Forest High School, where he was
9class president, Triton College, and DePaul University; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Tom Carraher adored Oak Park, frequently
11proclaiming that he had won the lottery location; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Tom Carraher's love for his community was evident
13through his devotion to Ascension Parish, his time spent
14coaching youth sports, and his 30-plus year realtor career
15predominantly serving the Village of Oak Park; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Tom Carraher had a larger-than-life personality
17that never wavered, and no difficulties he faced ever shook
18his passions for singing on stage, traveling, golfing,
19watching the Minnesota Vikings and Kentucky Wildcats, and
20spending time with his daughters; and

1    WHEREAS, Tom Carraher was preceded in death by his
2parents; his brother, Bill (Donna); and his brother and best
3friend, Bob; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Tom Carraher is survived by his daughters, Alison
5and Megan, and their mother, Eileen; his siblings,
6Maryelizabeth and her husband Jim, John and his life-partner
7Shari, and Jim and his wife Susan; many nieces and nephews,
8Samantha and her husband Christopher and their children,
9Addison and Brady; Timothy and his husband Patryk; Taylor and
10her husband Pedro and their children, Camille and Jett;
11McKenzie and her husband Jeff and their children, James and
12Wesley; Colleen, Danny, Kevin and their mother, Sheila; Katie
13and her husband John and their children Grace, Caroline, and
14Evan; and Brian and his wife Amanda; as well as his partner,
15Vicki; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Thomas Michael "Tom" Carraher and extend our sincere
19condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
20him; and be it further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of Tom Carraher as an expression of our
