SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Rylee Denae Britton of Springfield,
4who passed away on April 28, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rylee Britton, the daughter of Zachery and
6Christine (Best) Britton, was born in Springfield on November
78, 2006; in her younger years, she was a member of the GSA
8Strikers soccer team; she attended Glenwood High School in
9Chatham, where she played soccer and was a member of the swim
10team; she planned on attending the University of Iowa; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Rylee Britton was employed at the YNOT Outdoors
12After School Camp; she previously worked at DSW Designer Shoe
13Warehouse, Express Personnel Services, and the YMCA; she also
14served as a student intern at Chatham Elementary School; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Rylee Britton was a member of Cherry Hills
16Church, where she sang in the Christmas Eve Service; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Rylee Britton loved music, performing in
18productions at the Hoogland Center for the Arts and Theatre in
19the Park; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Rylee Britton was known for her courageous and

1kindhearted nature; she faced every challenge with a brave
2smile, inspiring those around her, and her infectious
3positivity and warmth touched everyone she met; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Rylee Britton's story, though brief, will serve
5as a testament of the love and joy she brought to others; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Rylee Britton is survived by her parents; her
7siblings, Rachel and Eli; her boyfriend, Drew Moffit; her
8grandparents, Lee and Karen Best and Jim and Carole Britton;
9her great-grandparents, Stanley Fritz and Mardell Best; her
10aunts and uncles, JT (Amy) Britton, Josh (Lara) Britton, and
11Heather (Mitch) Jones; and her cousins, Alicia Britton, Thomas
12Britton, Jackson Britton, Julia Britton, Noah Britton, Isaac
13Britton, Jacob Sawyer, Trenton Sawyer, and Camden Sawyer;
14therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
17Rylee Denae Britton and extend our sincere condolences to her
18family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
19further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Rylee Britton as an expression of
22our deepest sympathy.
