SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Hattie Mae Green, who passed away on
4April 17, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Hattie Green, the daughter of Ada Bell Walker and
6Freddie Walker Sr., was born in Elaine, Arkansas on July 3,
71945; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Hattie Green started her career at the Community
9Action Agency in Peoria; she then worked at the Peoria County
10State's Attorney's Office for over three decades, where she
11formed many lifelong friendships and earned the respect of
12colleagues through her dedication and integrity; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Hattie Green was a member of the Rising Sun
14Christian Church in Peoria for more than 40 years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Hattie Green built a life rooted in faith,
16family, and service to her community; she will be remembered
17for her kindness, honesty, and love of traveling; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Hattie Green was preceded in death by her
19parents; her sisters, Vinnie C. Robinson, Georgia Mae Burrell,
20Freddie Bee James, and Earnestine Fields; and her brothers,

1Harvey Lee Walker, Leotis Walker, and Freddie Walker Jr.; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Hattie Green was the mother of Kathy Green,
3Amanda Green, Mark Green, Nikki Green, and Tavares Green; the
4sister of Louise Marshall, Ollie (Thomas) Gaddy, Dianne
5Patterson, Dollie Walker, and Jerry (Tighteye) Walker; the
6grandmother of 21; the great-grandmother of 27; and the aunt
7of many; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Hattie Mae Green and extend our sincere condolences to her
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Hattie Green as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
