| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Hattie Mae Green, who passed away on |
| 4 | | April 17, 2025; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Hattie Green, the daughter of Ada Bell Walker and |
| 6 | | Freddie Walker Sr., was born in Elaine, Arkansas on July 3, |
| 7 | | 1945; and |
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Hattie Green started her career at the Community |
| 9 | | Action Agency in Peoria; she then worked at the Peoria County |
| 10 | | State's Attorney's Office for over three decades, where she |
| 11 | | formed many lifelong friendships and earned the respect of |
| 12 | | colleagues through her dedication and integrity; and |
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Hattie Green was a member of the Rising Sun |
| 14 | | Christian Church in Peoria for more than 40 years; and |
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Hattie Green built a life rooted in faith, |
| 16 | | family, and service to her community; she will be remembered |
| 17 | | for her kindness, honesty, and love of traveling; and |
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Hattie Green was preceded in death by her |
| 19 | | parents; her sisters, Vinnie C. Robinson, Georgia Mae Burrell, |
| 20 | | Freddie Bee James, and Earnestine Fields; and her brothers, |
