| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 |     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened  | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Dwayne Charles "D.D." Fischer, who  | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on May 2, 2025; and | ||||||
| 5 |     WHEREAS, D.D. Fischer, the son of Irwin "Obie" Fischer and  | ||||||
| 6 | Mildred "Tootie" Warmker Fischer, was born in Quincy on April  | ||||||
| 7 | 13, 1949; he graduated from St. Francis Grade School,  | ||||||
| 8 | Christian Brothers High School, and Quincy College, known  | ||||||
| 9 | today as Quincy University, and he earned his MBA from Western  | ||||||
| 10 | Illinois University; he married Janie Ehrhardt at St. Francis  | ||||||
| 11 | Church in Quincy on August 22, 1970; and | ||||||
| 12 |     WHEREAS, D.D. Fischer began his career in the retail  | ||||||
| 13 | clothing industry and discovered his true calling in education  | ||||||
| 14 | and service; in 1973, he began a remarkable relationship with  | ||||||
| 15 | Chaddock, a place that ultimately became his professional home  | ||||||
| 16 | and spiritual mission, where he went from serving as a teacher  | ||||||
| 17 | to vice president of finance in 1985; he proceeded to found  | ||||||
| 18 | Fischer Financial Consulting and ultimately became president  | ||||||
| 19 | of the Chaddock Board of Directors; during his time with  | ||||||
| 20 | Chaddock, he led with heart, vision, humility, and unwavering  | ||||||
| 21 | commitment, serving as a transformative and selfless leader, a  | ||||||
| 22 | specialist in supporting private special education schools  | ||||||
| 23 | throughout Illinois, and an inspiring advocate for children  | ||||||

| 1 | and families statewide; and | ||||||
| 2 |     WHEREAS, D.D. Fischer was a lifelong sportsman with a deep  | ||||||
| 3 | love for duck, goose, and quail hunting, especially alongside  | ||||||
| 4 | his treasured German shorthaired pointers, and he was an  | ||||||
| 5 | aficionado of blues music; he enjoyed riding his 4x4 mule with  | ||||||
| 6 | his wife, Janie, around their farm, and some of his happiest  | ||||||
| 7 | moments included attending outdoor concerts, going on beach  | ||||||
| 8 | vacations with his family, and enjoying meals and camaraderie  | ||||||
| 9 | with friends; and | ||||||
| 10 |     WHEREAS, D.D. Fischer will be remembered as a man of  | ||||||
| 11 | faith, wisdom, compassion, and integrity who remained devoted  | ||||||
| 12 | to family, service, and community; and | ||||||
| 13 |     WHEREAS, D.D. Fischer was preceded in death by his  | ||||||
| 14 | parents; his brother, Daniel "Boonie" Fischer; his  | ||||||
| 15 | sisters-in-law, Sharon Dittmer and Donna Simmons; and his  | ||||||
| 16 | parents-in-law, Alfred and Janet Ehrhardt; and | ||||||
| 17 |     WHEREAS, D.D. Fischer is survived by his wife of 54 years,  | ||||||
| 18 | Janie; his sons, Ryan (Darren Taylor) Fischer and Michael  | ||||||
| 19 | (Jessica (Simmons)) Fischer; his brother, Dennis (Vicky)  | ||||||
| 20 | Fischer; his sisters, Diana (Don) Bruemmer and Debbie (Jim)  | ||||||
| 21 | Fruland; his brother-in-law, Michael Simmons; and his extended  | ||||||
| 22 | family; therefore, be it | ||||||

| 1 |     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL  | ||||||
| 2 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of  | ||||||
| 3 | Dwayne Charles "D.D." Fischer and extend our sincere  | ||||||
| 4 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved  | ||||||
| 5 | him; and be it further | ||||||
| 6 |     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be  | ||||||
| 7 | presented to the family of D.D. Fischer as an expression of our  | ||||||
| 8 | deepest sympathy. | ||||||
