SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Dwayne Charles "D.D." Fischer, who
4passed away on May 2, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, D.D. Fischer, the son of Irwin "Obie" Fischer and
6Mildred "Tootie" Warmker Fischer, was born in Quincy on April
713, 1949; he graduated from St. Francis Grade School,
8Christian Brothers High School, and Quincy College, known
9today as Quincy University, and he earned his MBA from Western
10Illinois University; he married Janie Ehrhardt at St. Francis
11Church in Quincy on August 22, 1970; and
 
12    WHEREAS, D.D. Fischer began his career in the retail
13clothing industry and discovered his true calling in education
14and service; in 1973, he began a remarkable relationship with
15Chaddock, a place that ultimately became his professional home
16and spiritual mission, where he went from serving as a teacher
17to vice president of finance in 1985; he proceeded to found
18Fischer Financial Consulting and ultimately became president
19of the Chaddock Board of Directors; during his time with
20Chaddock, he led with heart, vision, humility, and unwavering
21commitment, serving as a transformative and selfless leader, a
22specialist in supporting private special education schools
23throughout Illinois, and an inspiring advocate for children

1and families statewide; and
 
2    WHEREAS, D.D. Fischer was a lifelong sportsman with a deep
3love for duck, goose, and quail hunting, especially alongside
4his treasured German shorthaired pointers, and he was an
5aficionado of blues music; he enjoyed riding his 4x4 mule with
6his wife, Janie, around their farm, and some of his happiest
7moments included attending outdoor concerts, going on beach
8vacations with his family, and enjoying meals and camaraderie
9with friends; and
 
10    WHEREAS, D.D. Fischer will be remembered as a man of
11faith, wisdom, compassion, and integrity who remained devoted
12to family, service, and community; and
 
13    WHEREAS, D.D. Fischer was preceded in death by his
14parents; his brother, Daniel "Boonie" Fischer; his
15sisters-in-law, Sharon Dittmer and Donna Simmons; and his
16parents-in-law, Alfred and Janet Ehrhardt; and
 
17    WHEREAS, D.D. Fischer is survived by his wife of 54 years,
18Janie; his sons, Ryan (Darren Taylor) Fischer and Michael
19(Jessica (Simmons)) Fischer; his brother, Dennis (Vicky)
20Fischer; his sisters, Diana (Don) Bruemmer and Debbie (Jim)
21Fruland; his brother-in-law, Michael Simmons; and his extended
22family; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Dwayne Charles "D.D." Fischer and extend our sincere
4condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
5him; and be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of D.D. Fischer as an expression of our
8deepest sympathy.
