SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Kenneth Eugene "Kenny" McNeely, who
4passed away on April 25, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kenny McNeely, the son of William H. McNeely and
6Helen L. (Dickason) McNeely, was born in Avon on September 2,
71948; he graduated from Bushnell-Prairie City High School in
81966; he began serving in the U.S. Army in 1968, where he was a
9member of Company C, 1st Engineer Battalion, 1st Infantry
10Division for 15 months during the Vietnam War; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Kenny McNeely worked as a farm equipment mechanic
12for John Deere and Case International; he also served as a
13mechanic for Butcher/Moon Farms for over 30 years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Kenny McNeely spent countless hours buying,
15restoring, and selling Ford tractors with his father and
16brothers; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Kenny McNeely never knew a stranger, making
18friends wherever he went; his vibrant and unwavering spirit,
19his love for farming, and his kindness touched the lives of
20many; and

1    WHEREAS, Kenneth McNeely was preceded in death by his
2parents; his sister, Nancy Underwood; and his siblings-in-law,
3Gloria McNeely and Dale Head; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Kenny McNeely is survived by his children, Karen
5D. (Brian) McNeely Yocks and K. Brett McNeely; two
6grandchildren; and his siblings, Garry (Pat) McNeely, Russell
7McNeely, Mary Buffum, and Beverly Head; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Kenneth Eugene "Kenny" McNeely and extend our sincere
11condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
12him; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Kenny McNeely as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
