| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of John A. Guynn of Massac County, who |
| 4 | | passed away on January 15, 2025; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, John Guynn was born to Rev. Julius Earl and |
| 6 | | Agatha "Peggy" (Terry) Guynn; he served his country in the |
| 7 | | United States Army 101st Airborne as a specialist 4 during the |
| 8 | | Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Bronze Star; and |
| 9 | | WHEREAS, John Guynn retired from Riverwood International |
| 10 | | in Kankakee; and |
| 11 | | WHEREAS, John Guynn was a member of the Machinists Union, |
| 12 | | the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Waldo Baptist Church, where |
| 13 | | he served as a deacon; and |
| 14 | | WHEREAS, John Guynn was preceded in death by his wife, |
| 15 | | Joyce Guynn; his parents; his grandchild, Jamie Riley Guynn; |
| 16 | | and his siblings, James "Jimmy" Guynn, Jean Steen, Bill Guynn, |
| 17 | | and Patsy Murphy; and |
| 18 | | WHEREAS, John Guynn is survived by his children, Thomas |
| 19 | | Guynn, Matthew (Janie) Guynn, and Samantha (Jeff) Lillard; his |
| 20 | | grandchildren, John Alexander, Kierstan, Kylie, Kaden, Deacon, |
