SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Sgt. Andrew John "Drew" Faught, who
4passed away on April 8, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Sgt. Faught was born in Joliet to Timothy Faught
6and Linda Melby on February 22, 1997; he was raised in Morris
7and graduated from Morris Community High School in 2014; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Sgt. Faught served as an officer for the Illinois
9Department of Corrections for six years, first at the Pontiac
10Correctional Center and most recently as a member of the
11Tactical Response Team; he was hardworking and committed to
12serving his community and coworkers; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Sgt. Faught loved sports, especially his time
14playing football with the Morris Chiefs and his time on the
15Morris Redskins football and wrestling teams; he also enjoyed
16weight lifting; the most important thing to him was his
17family, and he was a devoted son, brother, and uncle; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Sgt. Faught was preceded in death by his
19grandmothers, Martha Senisais, Betty Faught, and Jeannie Male;
20his sister, Ashleigh Elizabeth Faught; his uncle, Ricardo
21Senisais; and his aunt, Debra Ann Senisais; and

1    WHEREAS, Sgt. Faught is survived by his parents, Linda and
2Eric Melby and Timothy and Gina Faught; his siblings, Ashley
3(Michael) Schanks, Aryk Senisais, Patrick (Alex Birsa) Melby,
4Debra (Nick Serafinn) Faught, Cassidy Roberts, Katie Clancy,
5Aaron Melby, and Savannah Melby (Sofia Rodriguez); his
6grandfathers, Esteban Senisais and Jon Melby; and numerous
7aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and good friends;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Sgt. Andrew John "Drew" Faught and extend our sincere
12condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
13him; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Sgt. Faught as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
