SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, Falun Dafa is an advanced exercise and meditation 
3practice of body, mind, and spirit based on the principles of 
4truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Men and women in the United States who practice 
6Falun Dafa aim to purify their hearts, energize their bodies, 
7and to create virtuous communities; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Falun Dafa's contributions to society have been 
9widely recognized and honored around the world since Li 
10Hongzhi introduced the practice to the public in 1992; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Falun Dafa transcends cultural and racial 
12boundaries, and the practice contributes to the universal 
13dream of a peaceful, tolerant, and compassionate society; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Falun Dafa practitioners' determination and 
15courage to stand up for truthfulness, compassion, and 
16forbearance while facing severe persecution from the Chinese 
17Communist Party has shown the world the value of life and human 
18dignity; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Falun Dafa practitioners will celebrate the 33rd 
20annual World Falun Dafa Day with festivals and events held

1across the United States and the world on May 13, 2025; 
2therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we declare May 13, 2025 
5as Falun Dafa Day in the State of Illinois to honor the 
6practice and its principles of truthfulness, compassion, and 
7forbearance.
