| 2 |  |     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened  | 
| 3 |  | to learn of the death of Raymond Edward "Ray" Imig, who passed  | 
| 4 |  | away on March 31, 2025; and   | 
| 5 |  |     WHEREAS, Ray Imig was born in Des Plaines to Ray and  | 
| 6 |  | Frances Imig on September 28, 1937 and was a lifelong resident  | 
| 7 |  | of Park Ridge and Des Plaines; and   | 
| 8 |  |     WHEREAS, Ray Imig began his career as an educator with  | 
| 9 |  | more than 30 years of service to Park Ridge District 64; after  | 
| 10 |  | retirement, he earned his CADC license and served as a  | 
| 11 |  | counselor and an intake coordinator at Keys to Recovery for  | 
| 12 |  | another 25 years; and   | 
| 13 |  |     WHEREAS, Ray Imig and his wife, Ginger, nurtured small  | 
| 14 |  | businesses that became local treasures; they created fresh  | 
| 15 |  | doughnuts at Imigs' Cafe and music-filled aisles at Crossroads  | 
| 16 |  | Record Shop, where they also created custom t-shirts; and   | 
| 17 |  |     WHEREAS, Ray Imig gave generously of his time and talents,  | 
| 18 |  | and service was at the core of his life; he was a proud member  | 
| 19 |  | of the Elks and the Des Plaines Lions Club; he volunteered for  | 
| 20 |  | HOTLINE, MCYAF, and the Self-Help Closet and Pantry of Des  | 
| 21 |  | Plaines; he had also served on the Des Plaines District 62  |

| 1 |  | School Board; and   | 
| 2 |  |     WHEREAS, Ray Imig had many passions; he loved music and  | 
| 3 |  | embraced life; he collected antiques and found joy in sharing  | 
| 4 |  | their stories through display; in recent years, he found a new  | 
| 5 |  | passion in crafting colorful, heartfelt buttons, small tokens  | 
| 6 |  | of kindness that he offered to everyone encountered; and   | 
| 7 |  |     WHEREAS, Ray Imig was preceded in death by his parents;  | 
| 8 |  | his sister, Mary Fallest; his son, Doug Imig; and his  | 
| 9 |  | grandson, Julian Hernandez; and   | 
| 10 |  |     WHEREAS, Ray Imig is survived by his wife of 67 years,  | 
| 11 |  | Virginia (Ginger) Imig; his children, Brian (Laura) Imig,  | 
| 12 |  | Laura Mendoza, Chris (Jill) Imig, Lori Imig, and Michele  | 
| 13 |  | (Mike) Nielsen; his brother, Jeff Imig; 10 grandchildren; and  | 
| 14 |  | 14 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it   | 
| 15 |  |     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL  | 
| 16 |  | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of  | 
| 17 |  | Raymond Edward "Ray" Imig and extend our sincere condolences  | 
| 18 |  | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be  | 
| 19 |  | it further   | 
| 20 |  |     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be  | 
| 21 |  | presented to the family of Ray Imig as an expression of our  |
