SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 
3congratulate Heather Way Kitzes as she departs from her 
4position as Director of Government and Community Affairs for 
5the Chicago Cubs on April 18, 2025; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Heather Way Kitzes has been a friendly and 
7familiar face to residents and the businesses of the 6th 
8District in her ten years with the Cubs; she has been a leader 
9at community meetings, Gallagher Way events, and school 
10gatherings, and she has been a passionate advocate for 
11neighbors, local business, schools, the Chicago police and 
12fire departments, and all who comprise the fabric of the 
13community; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Heather Way Kites' tireless efforts have created 
15strong community relationships; her upbeat, collaborative 
16approach has made a lasting difference in the community, which 
17was reflected in the East Lake View Neighbors naming the 
18Chicago Cubs the recipient of its 2019 Neighbor of the Year 
19Award; therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL 
21ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate 
22Heather Way Kitzes on her accomplishments and contributions,

1note that she will be missed by all whose lives she touched, 
2and wish her the best in all of her future endeavors; and be it

4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
5presented to Heather Way Kitzes as a symbol of our deep
