SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Thomas J. "Tom" Kleinschmidt of
4Naperville, formerly of Chicago and Elk Grove Village, who
5passed away on October 7, 2024; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Tom Kleinschmidt, the son of Hubert and Adeline
7(Wicka) Kleinschmidt, was born on July 17, 1947; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Tom Kleinschmidt worked as a Dow Jones
9circulation driver for 30 years; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Tom Kleinschmidt served as a 50-year high school
11and college basketball official, officiating three Illinois
12High School Association State Tournaments and being inducted
13into the halls of fame of five separate athletic
14organizations; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Tom Kleinschmidt enjoyed fishing at the Ned Brown
16Forest Preserve, commonly known as Busse Woods, and on the
17Mississippi River, golfing on local courses, and cheering on
18the Chicago Cubs; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Tom Kleinschmidt was preceded in death by his
20parents and his brothers, Frank (Dorothy) Kleinschmidt, Bob

1(Penny) Kleinschmidt, and Don Kleinschmidt; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Tom Kleinschmidt was the husband of Peggy (Lydon)
3Kleinschmidt for 56 years; the father of Tracy (Bob) Osborne,
4Tom (Cassandra) Kleinschmidt, and David Kleinschmidt; the
5grandfather of four; the brother of Ron (Jean) Kleinschmidt;
6and a brother-in-law, uncle, and friend to many; therefore, be
7it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Thomas J. "Tom" Kleinschmidt and extend our sincere
11condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
12him; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Tom Kleinschmidt as an expression
15of our deepest sympathy.
