| 2 |  |     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened  | 
| 3 |  | to learn of the death of Donald Edward "Don" Beetler of Altona,  | 
| 4 |  | who passed away on March 10, 2025; and   | 
| 5 |  |     WHEREAS, Don Beetler was born to Fred Beetler and Louise  | 
| 6 |  | Learned Beetler in Glasford on May 9, 1927; he was raised in  | 
| 7 |  | Yates City and graduated from Elmwood High School; he served  | 
| 8 |  | in the Guard Company Headquarters and Battalion, 7th Service  | 
| 9 |  | Regiment, First Marine Division of the U.S. Marine Corps from  | 
| 10 |  | 1945 to 1946, where he was stationed in Tientsin, now Tianjin,  | 
| 11 |  | China; he married Mary Frances Brown at Ontario Congregational  | 
| 12 |  | Church in Oneida on June 26, 1949, and they were married for 67  | 
| 13 |  | years until she preceded him in death in 2017; and   | 
| 14 |  |     WHEREAS, Don Beetler worked for Caterpillar, Inc. and Auto  | 
| 15 |  | Sales Company in Brimfield before farming near Victoria,  | 
| 16 |  | Oneida, and Altona for 45 years; and   | 
| 17 |  |     WHEREAS, Don Beetler was quietly generous and very  | 
| 18 |  | hardworking; he will be remembered for his sense of humor and  | 
| 19 |  | his strong love for and devotion to his family; and   | 
| 20 |  |     WHEREAS, Don Beetler was preceded in death by his parents;  | 
| 21 |  | his brothers, Harold, Robert, and J. Holland Beetler; his  |
