SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Donald Edward "Don" Beetler of Altona,
4who passed away on March 10, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Don Beetler was born to Fred Beetler and Louise
6Learned Beetler in Glasford on May 9, 1927; he was raised in
7Yates City and graduated from Elmwood High School; he served
8in the Guard Company Headquarters and Battalion, 7th Service
9Regiment, First Marine Division of the U.S. Marine Corps from
101945 to 1946, where he was stationed in Tientsin, now Tianjin,
11China; he married Mary Frances Brown at Ontario Congregational
12Church in Oneida on June 26, 1949, and they were married for 67
13years until she preceded him in death in 2017; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Don Beetler worked for Caterpillar, Inc. and Auto
15Sales Company in Brimfield before farming near Victoria,
16Oneida, and Altona for 45 years; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Don Beetler was quietly generous and very
18hardworking; he will be remembered for his sense of humor and
19his strong love for and devotion to his family; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Don Beetler was preceded in death by his parents;
21his brothers, Harold, Robert, and J. Holland Beetler; his

1sisters, Rena Beetler, Ruth Broadfield, and Lois Mayer; one
2great-granddaughter; and his daughter-in-law, Deborah Beetler;
3and
 
4    WHEREAS, Don Beetler is survived by his children, Dianne
5Beetler, Linda (LaMar) Bell, David Beetler, and Kathleen
6(Henry) Gondeck; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren;
7and his sister, Barbara (Fred) Woldarski; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Donald Edward "Don" Beetler and extend our sincere condolences
11to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
12it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Don Beetler as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
