SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Alanson P. "Hap" Holly of Des Plaines, 
4who passed away on February 24, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Alanson Holly was born in La Jolla, California to 
6Forrest Merton and Jean (Treadway) Holly on April 11, 1951; he 
7attended Principia College in Elsah; he married Stephanie, a 
8camper he met while working as a camp counselor in Buena Vista 
9Colorado at Adventure/Unlimited Ranches, on August 28, 1976; 
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Alanson Holly published a blog, the RAIN Report, 
12and was an avid amateur radio operator, operating under the 
13call sign KC9RP; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Alanson Holly was a kind man with a wonderful 
15sense of humor; he was a member of the Lions Club and 
16Toastmasters International in Des Plaines; he and Stephanie 
17were active members of the Emergency Management Agency; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Alanson Holly was preceded in death by his 
19parents and his brothers, Forrest Holly Jr. and William (the 
20late Cher) Holly; and

1    WHEREAS, Alanson Holly is survived by his wife of 48 
2years, Stephanie Holly; his sister, Faith (the late Tom) 
3Holly-Hall; his sister-in-law, Joyce Holly; and several nieces 
4and nephews; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
7Alanson P. "Hap" Holly and extend our sincere condolences to 
8his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Alanson Holly as an expression of 
12our deepest sympathy.
