SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Linda Renee Olivero of Springfield,
4who passed away on February 2, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Linda Olivero, the daughter of John and Lorraine
6Olivero, was born in Peru on May 22, 1962; she graduated from
7LaSalle-Peru Township High School in 1980, where she served as
8class president; she received degrees in both accounting and
9law from the University of Illinois; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Linda Olivero worked as a Certified Public
11Accountant (CPA) and a lawyer; during her career, she clerked
12for a federal district judge in southern Illinois, served as
13an attorney for the Illinois Supreme Court, and served as an
14administrative law judge for the Illinois Department of
15Revenue for decades; she was known for her brilliant legal
16mind and unwavering integrity; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Linda Olivero volunteered for the Make-A-Wish
18Foundation for more than 30 years and as a Big Sister for young
19girls in the Big Sister Little Sister mentoring program; she
20also dedicated herself to helping disabled adults at the
21Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired; and

1    WHEREAS, Linda Olivero enjoyed traveling, hiking, and
2spending time in nature; she was an avid University of
3Illinois Fighting Illini fan; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Linda Olivero was kind, caring, honest, and
5selfless; she lived with grace, humility, and a deep sense of
6compassion, leaving the world brighter for everyone who had
7the privilege of knowing her; she adored her family, caring
8for them with unwavering devotion and always offering a
9listening ear, wise advice, and unconditional love; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Linda Olivero was preceded in death by her
11parents and her sister, Lana Elder; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Linda Olivero is survived by her siblings, John
13Paul Olivero, Lisa Olivero, Laurie (Steve) Landsman, Mark
14Olivero, Tom (Wendy) Olivero, Lucy (Gordon) Olivero, and Luke
15(Jeanna) Olivero; her uncle, Carlo Olivero; 15 nieces and
16nephews; one grandniece; and 27 cousins; therefore, be it
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
19Linda Renee Olivero and extend our sincere condolences to her
20family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
21further
