SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Robert F. "Dobby" Clayberg of Macomb,
4formerly of Cuba, who passed away on February 7, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Clayberg, the son of Cecil H. and Faith
6(Putman) Clayberg, was born in Cuba on July 20, 1934; he
7graduated from Cuba High School in 1952; he served in the U.S.
8Army in Germany; he married Mary Darlene Cook on September 16,
91956; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Robert Clayberg worked at Cuba Mine #9 and then
11at the Freeman United Coal Co-Buckheart Mine in rural Canton,
12retiring in 1989; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Robert Clayberg was a member of Cuba Christian
14Church, the Canton Moose Lodge, the Canton Elks, and the Cuba
15Lions Club; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Robert Clayberg was an avid Chicago Cubs fan; he
17enjoyed playing cards, fishing and camping with his wife, and
18attending his grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's
19events; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Robert Clayberg was preceded in death by his

1parents; his brother, Lt. James G. Clayberg, U.S. Air Force,
2MIA Korean War; his sister, Joan (Clayberg) Clark; his
3brother-in-law, Robert Clark; and his nephew, James Clark; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Robert Clayberg is survived by his wife of 68
5years, Darlene; his children, Jeff Clayberg, Patrick (Brian
6Suver), and Denise Clayberg; two grandchildren; and six
7great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Robert F. "Dobby" Clayberg and extend our sincere condolences
11to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
12it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Robert Clayberg as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
