SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3congratulate Terry McKeown on the occasion of his retirement
4as a board member of the Bloomingdale School District 13 Board
5of Education; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Terry McKeown has served on the Bloomingdale
7School District 13 Board since April 1, 2001; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Terry McKeown has engaged in strategic planning
9to identify district priorities, giving rise to a high number
10of student achievements that were recognized locally and
11nationally; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Terry McKeown has spearheaded changes in
13financial practices, leading the Bloomingdale School District
1413 Board to earn Certificates of Achievement (COAs) for
15Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Association of School
16Business Officials (ASBO) and the Government Finance Officers
17Association (GFOA) for the past seven years; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Terry McKeown has further served the Bloomingdale
19School District 13 Board by readily accepting additional
20leadership roles during his tenure, including holding the
21position of board president for two terms; and

1    WHEREAS, Terry McKeown, for the duration of his term, has
2also supported the Bloomingdale CHARACTER COUNTS! Coalition, a
3not-for-profit organization whose mission is to actively build
4and nurture trustworthiness, respect, responsibility,
5fairness, caring, and citizenship throughout the community;
6and
 
7    WHEREAS, Terry McKeown will conclude his service to the
8Bloomingdale School District 13 Board on May 1, 2025;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Terry
12McKeown on his retirement as a board member of the
13Bloomingdale School District 13 Board of Education, and we
14thank him for his service to the community and its students;
15and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to Terry McKeown as an expression of our esteem and
18respect.
