SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Robert E. "Doc" Buck of Canton, who
4passed away on November 29, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Doc Buck was born to Ernest and Amy (Smith) Buck
6in London Mills on August 5, 1928; he served in the U.S. Army
7during the Korean War, and he was honored to be part of the
8Greater Peoria Honor Flight later in life; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Doc Buck worked at Gale Products in Galesburg for
1017 years, where he made Lawn Boy lawn mowers; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Doc Buck was a member of the London Mills United
12Methodist Church, the VFW, the American Legion, and Farmington
13Moose Lodge 1571; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Doc Buck was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and a
15Fulton County sports history buff; he also enjoyed cheering on
16the Chicago Bears, the Chicago Bulls, and the Chicago
17Blackhawks; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Doc Buck was preceded in death by his parents;
19his sister, Alberta Schafer; and his special friend, Rose
20Foss; and

1    WHEREAS, Doc Buck is survived by his children, Bob
2(Debbie) Buck, Jim (Debra) Buck, Bill (Terisa) Buck, Joanne
3(Scott) Rupe, and Penny Buck; 13 grandchildren; 20
4great-grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Shirley
5Graham; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Robert E. "Doc" Buck and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Doc Buck as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
