SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Agriculture is the backbone of Illinois' economy, with over 72,000 farms covering nearly 27 million acres and marketing of agricultural products generating more than $51 billion annually; and

WHEREAS, Illinois farmers play a crucial role in feeding the nation and the world by producing corn, soybeans, pork, beef, dairy, and specialty crops that are exported globally; and

WHEREAS, The dedication, innovation, and stewardship of Illinois farmers sustain rural communities, protect natural resources, and promote agricultural advancements that drive economic growth and food security; and

WHEREAS, Despite their vital contributions, Illinois farmers often face challenges related to public perception, regulatory burdens, and misinformation about modern farming practices; and

WHEREAS, It is essential to recognize and promote the hard work, resilience, and ingenuity of Illinois farmers to enhance public understanding and appreciation of their efforts; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we affirm our commitment to supporting Illinois farmers and promoting a positive perception of their essential work; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we encourage public education initiatives, outreach programs, and partnerships with agricultural organizations to highlight the economic, and environmental contributions of Illinois farms; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we recognize and commend the farmers of Illinois for their dedication, perseverance, and continued commitment to feeding families, strengthening communities, and upholding the State's proud agricultural heritage.
