| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Diane Marie (Flamm) McCleland, who |
| 4 | | passed away on December 16, 2024; and |
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Diane McCleland was born to Robert Flamm and |
| 6 | | Martha (Basler) Flamm in Anna on April 16, 1952; she graduated |
| 7 | | from Cobden High School; she married Michael McCleland in |
| 8 | | 1971; and |
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Diane McCleland worked as a reading specialist at |
| 10 | | Lincoln Elementary School in Anna for over two decades, and |
| 11 | | she was noted for her kindness by countless former students; |
| 12 | | and |
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Diane McCleland and her friends marched as |
| 14 | | costumed troupes in the Cobden Peach Festival Parade every |
| 15 | | year; and |
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Diane McCleland enjoyed walking, cycling, and |
| 17 | | running with her friends; she was an avid runner who completed |
| 18 | | her first marathon at the age of 60 in 2012; she also loved |
| 19 | | enjoying the outdoors and climbing mountains with her family |
| 20 | | and friends; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Diane McCleland was a loving mother and wife, a |
| 2 | | doting grandmother, a caring sister, a favorite aunt, and a |
| 3 | | thoughtful and loyal friend; and |
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Diane McCleland was preceded in death by her |
| 5 | | parents and her brother-in-law, Donnie Campbell; and |
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Diane McCleland is survived by her husband, |
| 7 | | Michael; her sons, Jerod McCleland and Jacob McCleland; her |
| 8 | | daughter-in-law, Alessandra Perez de McCleland; two |
| 9 | | grandchildren; and her sisters, Theresa Hatley, Roberta |
| 10 | | Vanover, Nancy Flamm, and Toni Campbell; therefore, be it |
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL |
| 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 13 | | Diane Marie (Flamm) McCleland and extend our sincere |
| 14 | | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
| 15 | | her; and be it further |
| 16 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 17 | | presented to the family of Diane McCleland as an expression of |
| 18 | | our deepest sympathy. |
