SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of A. Dale Huston of Springfield, who
4passed away on January 20, 2025; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dale Huston, the son of Frederic W. "Ted" and
6Dorothy B. (Jardine) Huston, was born in Gibson City on
7September 5, 1940; he was raised on a livestock farm near
8Gibson City, graduating from the local high school; he earned
9a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy from the University of
10Illinois; he also graduated from the Illinois Bankers
11Association School of Banking at Southern Illinois University
12Carbondale, the Graduate School of Banking at the University
13of Wisconsin-Madison, and the Senior Commercial Lenders School
14at the University of Oklahoma Norman; he married Judy A. Dube
15at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas in 1963; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Dale Huston belonged to the Reserve Officers'
17Training Corps (ROTC) program while attending the University
18of Illinois, where he received his commission as a second
19lieutenant; he served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam Era
20from 1962 to 1964, and he was assigned to the 6th Missile
21Battalion (HAWK), 71st Artillery, Fort Bliss, Texas; he then
22served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1965 to 1969; and

1    WHEREAS, Dale Huston worked for the Fox Valley Production
2Credit Association, part of the Farm Credit System, the
3original Illinois National Bank, which became First of America
4Bank, and National City Bank; he retired as executive vice
5president in charge of the Commercial Loan Division and other
6management responsibilities in 2000 after a total of 32 years
7with the bank; he joined the Geneva Mortgage Corporation as an
8associate in 2000, originating commercial real estate loans
9for various investors; he joined Hickory Point Bank as a
10senior relationship manager in 2011, where he served on the
11Loan Committee; after a 50-year career in banking, he retired
12in 2018; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Dale Huston was a member of Westminster
14Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon, an elder,
15and a chairman of the Deacon Committee, the Endowment
16Committee, and the Property Committee; he was a member of
17Illini Country Club, the Springfield South Rotary Club, and
18the Springfield Downtown Rotary Club; he served as president
19and on the board of the Mental Health Centers of Central
20Illinois; he was a board member of the Springfield Chamber of
21Commerce, where he served on the Audit and Economic
22Development Committees and was chairman of the EDC; he also
23served on the boards of the Springfield Jaycees, the Small
24Business Growth Corporation, Downtown Springfield, Inc., the
25Downtown Springfield Heritage Foundation, and the Springfield

1Home Builders Association; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Dale Huston enjoyed spending time with his
3family, especially during family trips to the beach and when
4he took his grandchildren to Eaton Ranch in Wyoming; his other
5interests included following University of Illinois sports,
6bird hunting, gardening, reading, studying family genealogy,
7overseeing his farmland, and listening to classic country
8music, bagpipes, old hymns, and music from the 1970s and
91980s; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Dale Huston was preceded in death by his parents
11and his brother, Frederic (Bill) W. Huston Jr.; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dale Huston is survived by his wife, Judy Huston;
13his children, Chad (Kara) Huston and Dana Huston; three
14grandchildren; his brother, Dennis (Irja) Huston; and two
15nieces and their families; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18A. Dale Huston and extend our sincere condolences to his
19family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
20further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
