SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Dr. Sheila Trikha Khanna M.D., who
4passed away on December 12, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dr. Khanna was born in Thika Kenya to Shyamlal
6Trikha and Bharati Bhardwaj on May 31, 1961; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Dr. Khanna was a skilled and generous
8rehabilitation physician, who touched the lives of many; she
9chose her medical specialty out of the desire to treat and
10advocate for patients like her own late mother who battled
11against serious neurodegenerative diseases; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dr. Khanna created a home that served as a safe
13haven, full of warmth, laughter, and love; she had an
14extraordinary way of leaving an indelible mark in many lives,
15and she engaged passionately in all of her convictions, which
16included civic engagement; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Dr. Khanna was the heart and soul of her family;
18she had a vibrant, extroverted nature and had the ability to
19make everyone feel special; she was known for her boundless
20love, her grace, her strength, her kindness, and her wisdom;

1    WHEREAS, Dr. Khanna was preceded in death by her husband;
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, Dr. Khanna is survived by her daughter, Priyanka;
4her sisters; and many other family and friends; therefore, be
5it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Dr. Sheila Trikha Khanna M.D. and extend our sincere
9condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
10her; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Dr. Khanna as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
