HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the East Dubuque Lions 
4Club on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of its founding on 
5June 22, 2026; and
 
6    WHEREAS, The East Dubuque Lions Club has embodied the 
7organization's motto, "We Serve", for nearly a century since 
8it was chartered on June 22, 1936; and
 
9    WHEREAS, The East Dubuque Lions Club has dedicated 
10thousands of volunteer hours to projects that strengthen the 
11community, including providing health and vision screenings 
12for elementary students, hosting the annual Easter egg hunt, 
13and operating the East Dubuque Food Pantry; and
 
14    WHEREAS, The East Dubuque Lions Club has raised funds 
15through sponsorships, donations, and efforts such as the 
16Mother's Day flower sale and annual chili cook-off to support 
17organizations and events throughout Jo Daviess County, 
18including the East Dubuque Booster Club, the East Dubuque 
19District Library Foundation, and the annual Thanksgiving 
20dinner; it has also awarded more than $275,000 in scholarships 
21to high school seniors; and

1    WHEREAS, In recognition of 90 years of service to the 
2citizens of East Dubuque and Jo Daviess County, the East 
3Dubuque Lions Club was honored with a proclamation from the 
4East Dubuque City Council celebrating the compassion, 
5generosity, and civic leadership of its members; therefore, be 
6it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
8HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
9we congratulate the East Dubuque Lions Club on its 90th 
10anniversary, and we wish the organization many more years of 
11life-changing service in its community; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13presented to the East Dubuque Lions Club as a symbol of our 
14esteem and respect.
