HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Dorothy
4A. Kane of Park Ridge, who passed away on June 13, 2026; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dorothy Kane, the daughter of George
6Sczypiorowski and Katherine Twarowski, was born in Stanley,
7Wisconsin on July 14, 1924; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Dorothy Kane was the quintessential grandmother
9figure; whether you were family or a family friend, she
10welcomed all with a love and an exuberance that only a
11grandmother could provide; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dorothy Kane was a decades-long parishioner of
13Our Lady of Ransom Church, where she found great joy in her
14church family, especially serving the parish with her friends
15in the ladies auxiliary; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Dorothy Kane had a long record of service to her
17community, including supporting youth causes through a
18lifelong involvement with the local Moose Lodge and being well
19known for the impressive amount of blood donations she made
20with the American Red Cross; and

1    WHEREAS, Dorothy Kane was noted for the extraordinary
2Christmas parties she hosted that guests often remembered
3fondly years later; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Dorothy Kane was preceded in death by her
5parents; her husband, Joseph Alderman; her husband, Paul Kane;
6and her daughter, Rita Alderman; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Dorothy Kane is survived by her son, Allen
8Alderman; her daughter-in-law, Anne Alderman; and her
9grandchildren, Christopher, Jason, Dawn, and Andrew Alderman;
10therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
12HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
13we mourn the passing of Dorothy A. Kane and extend our sincere
14condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
15her; and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Dorothy Kane as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
