HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Reverend Betty 
4Alexander-Bonds on the occasion of her 90th birthday on July 
517, 2026; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Betty Alexander-Bonds earned her bachelor's 
7degree from the School of Free Salvation; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Betty Alexander-Bonds, under the pastorate of Dr. 
9Rev. Steven D. Lewis Sr., serves as an associate minister and 
10is known as the Reverend Mother at True Vine Missionary 
11Baptist Church in Dixmoor, where she has been a member for 55 
12years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Betty Alexander-Bonds is the founder of the Hoyne 
14Avenue Prayer Band in Dixmoor, and she is also an honorary 
15member of the Harvey Park District Senior Advisory Board, the 
16Evangelistic Board of Gospel Music Workshop of America, and 
17the Chicago Chapter of Gospel Music Workshop of America; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Betty Alexander-Bonds is the loving mother of 
19seven children and one godchild, the grandmother of 16 
20grandchildren and 1 bonus grandchild, the great-grandmother of 
2145 great-grandchildren, and the great-great-grandmother of 11

1great-great-grandchildren; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Betty Alexander-Bonds has served as a model of 
3hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the 
4State of Illinois; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Betty Alexander-Bonds will celebrate her 90th 
6birthday with a celebration of her life at The Sugar Suite in 
7Calumet City on July 18, 2026; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
9HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
10we congratulate Reverend Betty Alexander-Bonds on celebrating 
11her 90th birthday, and we wish her many happy and healthy years 
12to come; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
14presented to Betty Alexander-Bonds as an expression of our 
15esteem and respect.
