HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Rotary Club of Mount 
4Carroll on the occasion of its 40th anniversary; and
 
5    WHEREAS, The Rotary Club of Mount Carroll has been a 
6community staple since its founding in 1986; and
 
7    WHEREAS, The Rotary Club of Mount Carroll has worked 
8tirelessly to improve the city, raising and providing funds 
9for local infrastructure as well as donating to and supporting 
10local food pantries, youth development initiatives, and 
11various local organizations; and
 
12    WHEREAS, The Rotary Club of Mount Carroll is passionate 
13about the community's first responders, hosting meals and 
14other events for local police officers, city workers, and 
15members of the local fire, ambulance, and 911 dispatch 
16departments; and
 
17    WHEREAS, The Rotary Club of Mount Carroll also hosts 
18events for the community as a whole, including bingo nights, 
19trivia nights, and raffles; and
 
20    WHEREAS, The Rotary Club of Mount Carroll's mission is to

1serve others, promote integrity, and advance world 
2understanding, goodwill, and peace through the fellowship of 
3business, professional, and community leaders; and
 
4    WHEREAS, The Rotary Club of Mount Carroll's purpose is to 
5see a world where people unite and take action to create 
6lasting change across the globe, in their communities, and in 
7themselves; and
 
8    WHEREAS, "Service Above Self" is the principal motto of 
9Rotary Club because it best conveys the philosophy of 
10unselfish volunteer service; and
 
11    WHEREAS, After 40 years of service, the Rotary Club of 
12Mount Carroll continues to make a difference in its community, 
13providing opportunities to volunteer, organizing social 
14events, and spreading awareness of local and global issues; 
15therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
17HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
18we congratulate the Rotary Club of Mount Carroll on its 40th 
19anniversary, and we commend its contributions to the community 
20and the selflessness of its members; and be it further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
