| 2 | | WHEREAS, Domestic violence is a pervasive and devastating |
| 3 | | crisis that impacts individuals across all demographics, but |
| 4 | | its intersection with systemic racism and misogyny creates |
| 5 | | unique, disproportionate, and heightened dangers for Black |
| 6 | | women; and |
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Black women face significantly higher rates of |
| 8 | | domestic abuse, psychological aggression, and intimate partner |
| 9 | | violence that are often compounded by historical inequities, |
| 10 | | societal neglect, and a lack of culturally competent support |
| 11 | | systems; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, The safety and well-being of Black women are |
| 13 | | continuously undermined by a continuous spectrum of harm, |
| 14 | | ranging from pervasive microaggressions and daily |
| 15 | | interpersonal aggressions to overt physical and fatal |
| 16 | | violence; and |
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Black women who achieve high levels of education |
| 18 | | and professional success are not immune to these harms, and |
| 19 | | they are frequently targeted with distinct forms of |
| 20 | | aggression, resentment, and hostile actions aimed at |
| 21 | | undermining their achievements, autonomy, and security; and |
