HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the St. Joseph-Ogden High 
4School boys baseball team, the Spartans, on winning the 2026 
5IHSA Class 2A State Championship; and
 
6    WHEREAS, The Spartans defeated Marshall High School, 
7Bismarck Henning High School, Tri-Valley High School (Downs), 
8Unity High School (Tolono), Williamsville High School, 
9Marquette Academy (Ottawa), and River Valley Christian School 
10on their way to the first championship in school history for 
11the boys baseball team; and
 
12    WHEREAS, The Spartans compiled a regular season record of 
1340 wins and two losses on their way to the title; and
 
14    WHEREAS, The Spartans victory in the state championship 
15also marks the first time a Champaign County baseball program 
16has won a state title since IHSA tournament first began in 
171940; and
 
18    WHEREAS, The Spartans are Finn Miller, Kodey McKinney, 
19Jameson Ehler, Dalton York, Will Haley, Tyler Wright, Trevor 
20Ames, Owen Wall, Hunter Cler, Asher Pruemer, Parker Fitch, 
21Logan Rosenthal, Branson Pearman, Nolan Franzen, Bryson

1Houchens, Kiptyn Rosenthal, Liam Carter, and Cam Schluter; and
 
2    WHEREAS, The Spartans are coached by Josh Haley, Mitch 
3Pruemer, Steve Hoosen, Jaden Miller, Crayton Burnett, and Kody 
4Haas and managed by Cameron Kuchenbrod; the team statisticians 
5are Addie Brooks, Gracyn Sjoken, and Charlee Christians; and
 
6    WHEREAS, The Spartans have several players who are part of 
72026's all-state baseball teams, including Trevor Ames, Bryson 
8Houchens, and Asher Pruemer; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
10HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
11we congratulate the St. Joseph-Ogden High School boys baseball 
12team, the Spartans, on winning the 2026 IHSA Class 2A State 
13Championship, and we wish them many more successful seasons; 
14and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
16presented to the Spartan players and coaches as a symbol of our 
17respect and esteem.
