HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Molly McCalla on earning
4the 2025 National Future Farmers of America (FFA) Agricultural
5Proficiency Award for Sheep Production, the highest national
6recognition for excellence in agricultural entrepreneurship
7and supervised agricultural experience; and
 
8    WHEREAS, This prestigious national honor distinguishes
9Molly McCalla among the nation's top youth agricultural
10leaders and exemplifies the highest level of achievement
11within the National FFA Organization; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Molly McCalla further demonstrated her continued
13excellence by earning the 2026 Illinois FFA Agricultural
14Proficiency Award for Diversified Livestock Production due to
15her engagement in poultry egg production and Angus cattle
16operations in addition to her sheep enterprise; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Molly McCalla is a senior member of the Staunton
18FFA Organization and the 2026 recipient of the Murray State
19University Presidential Fellowship Scholarship in Kentucky;
20and
 
21    WHEREAS, Through her ownership and operation of a

1Southdown sheep flock, Molly McCalla has developed advanced
2skills in livestock management, including daily care,
3nutrition, health, and show preparation, exemplifying the
4practical application of agricultural education; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Molly McCalla's accomplishments highlight the
6critical role of youth leadership in advancing agricultural
7innovation, sustainability, and stewardship, which are
8essential to Illinois' multibillion-dollar agricultural
9economy; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
11HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
12we congratulate Molly McCalla on her National Future Farmers
13of America (FFA) Agricultural Proficiency Award for Sheep
14Production and her continued success at the state level; and
15be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to Molly McCalla and her FFA advisors, John Davin,
18Spencer Laughlin, and Maggie McCalla, as an expression of our
19highest esteem and respect.
