HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to recognize the life and career of
4Sergeant Major William G. Bainbridge of the United States
5Army; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Sergeant Major Bainbridge, born in Galesburg,
7dedicated his life to the service of the United States Army,
8exemplifying the highest standards of leadership, integrity,
9and commitment; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Throughout his exemplary military career,
11Sergeant Major Bainbridge served with honor in three wars,
12World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, while providing critical
13guidance, mentorship, and support to soldiers, noncommissioned
14officers, and commanders alike; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Sergeant Major Bainbridge's tenure as the sixth
16sergeant major of the United States Army marked a period of
17significant advancement and advocacy for the enlisted force,
18fostering improvements in training, professional development,
19and quality of life for soldiers and their families; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Sergeant Major Bainbridge's unwavering dedication
21to the principles of duty, honor, and country earned the

1respect of his peers, subordinates, and the nation he so
2faithfully served; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Sergeant Major Bainbridge's legacy continues to
4inspire future generations of soldiers and is preserved
5through museum exhibits, military memorials, and the enduring
6impact of his leadership; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
8HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
9we recognize the life and career of Sergeant Major William G.
10Bainbridge of the United States Army, who provided
11extraordinary service in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam
12while making lasting contributions to the United States Army
13and the nation.
