HOUSE RESOLUTION
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Isadore McKennie on the 
4occasion of his 90th birthday on March 20, 2026; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Isadore McKennie was born to Perry McKennie Sr. 
6and Mammie McKennie in Lexington on March 20, 1936, and he is 
7the last surviving child of seven siblings; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Isadore McKennie dedicated 30 years of diligent 
9service to the E.J. Brach & Sons Candy Factory, contributing 
10to a historic Chicago industry before continuing his career in 
11public service to the City of Chicago; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Isadore McKennie has been a bastion of the 
13Chicago community for more than eight decades, embodying the 
14tireless work ethic and resilience that defines the spirit of 
15the great City of Chicago; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Through his decades of labor and community 
17presence, Isadore McKennie has demonstrated an unwavering 
18commitment to his family, his neighbors, and the civic fabric 
19of Illinois; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Isadore McKennie has remained a faithful and 
21devoted churchgoer, finding strength in his spiritual

1community while serving as a pillar of faith and moral 
2leadership to those around him; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
4HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
5we congratulate Isadore McKennie on celebrating his 90th 
6birthday, and we wish him continued success as a respected 
7elder within his community; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution is 
9presented to Isadore McKennie as a symbol of our esteem and 
10respect.
