HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
4Firefighter Michael E. "Mickey" Altman of the Chicago Fire
5Department, who passed away on March 17, 2026 due to injuries
6sustained in the line of duty; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Mickey Altman, born on January 13, 1994, proudly
8served as a firefighter of the Chicago Fire Department for the
9past two years, and he was a dedicated member of Pipefitters
10Local 597 for eight years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Mickey Altman had a passion for life and the
12people around him, and he found joy in partaking in jiu-jitsu
13training, playing 16-inch softball in the summer, and spending
14time on the golf course; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Mickey Altman was, above all, deeply dedicated to
16his family and his service to others; his courage, loyalty,
17and commitment to his community will never be forgotten; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Mickey Altman was the husband of Nora (Fiorella)
19Altman; the father of Theodore and Baby Girl Altman; the son of
20Mark and Mary Altman; the brother of Marki and Sara (Thomas)
21McIntyre; the son-in-law of Steven "Jocko" and Linda Fiorella;

1the brother-in-law of Natalie, Andrew, Michael (Courtney), and
2Steven (Katie) Fiorella; and the uncle, cousin, and friend of
3many; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
5HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
6we mourn the passing of Firefighter Michael E. "Mickey" Altman
7of the Chicago Fire Department and extend our sincere
8condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
9him; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Mickey Altman as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
