HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Central Community 
4High School (Breese) girls basketball team, the Cougars, on 
5winning the 2026 Illinois High School Association Class 2A 
6State Championship; and
 
7    WHEREAS, The Cougars compiled a season record of 32 wins 
8and 3 losses on their way to the title; and
 
9    WHEREAS, The Cougars are led by Head Coach Nathan Rueter, 
10Assistant Coaches Kelly Schumacher, Wyatt Troyer, Angie 
11Kohlbrecher, Lexi Klostermann, and Liv Wesselmann and Trainer 
12Marty Stewart; and
 
13    WHEREAS, The Cougars are Lilly Henrichs, Lexi Morris, 
14Kendyl Poettker, Lexy Santel, Taylor Trame, Jillian Beckmann, 
15Ella Nettemeier, Alyssa Moore, Lily Butler, Mallory Shubert, 
16Hayleigh Holtmann, Tori Garcia, Madelyn Luebbers, Aubrey 
17Timmermann, and Rylan Segert; and
 
18    WHEREAS, The Cougars are selfless, hard-working, and 
19fun-loving and always put the needs of the team over 
20themselves, a truly inspiring group; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
2HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we congratulate the Central Community High School (Breese) 
4girls basketball team, the Cougars, on winning the 2026 
5Illinois High School Association Class 2A State Championship, 
6and we wish them many more successful seasons; and be it

8    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
9presented to the Cougars' players and coaches as a symbol of 
10our respect and esteem.
