HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Bill Riordan on his 
4retirement as executive director of the Lockport Township Park 
5District; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Bill Riordan has 23 years of service with the 
7Lockport Township Park District, first as director of business 
8and then the last nine years as executive director; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bill Riordan oversaw numerous capital projects, 
10including the development of Brent Hassert Park, the Dellwood 
11Park Community Center, Challenge Fitness, the Prairie Bluff 
12Restaurant, and driving range projects; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Bill Riordan guided the Lockport Township Park 
14District to the Illinois Association of Park Districts' 
15Distinguished Accreditation and the Government Finance 
16Officers Association's certificate of achievement for 
17excellence in financial reporting; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Bill Riordan helps support his community as a 
19member of the South Suburban Park & Recreation Professional 
20Association Legislative Committee, the Park District Risk 
21Management Agency Claims Committee, the Northern Will County

1Special Recreation Association, the Dellwood Foundation, and 
2the Lockport Rotary Club; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Bill Riordan enjoys spending time with his wife 
4and three children and has spent countless hours coaching them 
5in sports; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
7HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
8we congratulate Bill Riordan on his retirement as executive 
9director of the Lockport Township Park District, thank him for 
10his many years of exceptional service and leadership, and wish 
11him much happiness in his future endeavors; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13presented to Bill Riordan as an expression of our esteem and 
14respect.
